Drew D’Agostino and Greg Skloot honored in the Enterprise Technology category for Personality AI app

NASHVILLE, Tenn., December 4, 2019 – Drew D’Agostino and Greg Skloot, co-founders of Nashville-based technology startup Crystal, have been named to Forbes’ 2020 list of the 30 Under 30 in enterprise technology.

Crystal is a “Personality AI” application, using artificial intelligence to predict anyone’s personality based on their answers to a questionnaire or existing information they created, like biographies, resumes or social media profiles. By analyzing millions of data points within this information, Crystal is able to provide personalized, situation-specific advice to communicate effectively.

Thanks to CEO D’Agostino’s and president and COO Skloot’s leadership, Crystal’s revenue grew by 100 percent this year, doubling the size of the company. In total, the company has raised $7 million in funding from Salesforce, Hubspot and more, and has 3,000 corporate customers.

“Our entire business was created after Greg and I were fired from our previous company,” said D’Agostino. “We realized the situation may have played out differently if there was better communication, so we started to explore how technology might be able to help with that.”

“The most important parts of making a team successful are communication and engagement,” said Skloot. “Our technology was born out of the efforts to make ourselves more effective leaders, and now it’s being used by hundreds of thousands of professionals around the world to do the same. We’re honored to be recognized for it.”

The annual Forbes 30 Under 30 list recognizes some of the top young entrepreneurs in their respective fields who are “changing the course—and the face—of business and society.” The judges evaluated over 15,000 nominations across 20 industries. All of the honorees can be viewed in Forbes.
